About Us
The Teacup Society was born from a simple invitation:
“Would you like to go out for tea?”
After moving to the Albany area, I was looking to make new connections in a place that was new to me. One day, I asked someone I had recently met a simple question. “Would you like to go out for tea?”. We sat down over tea, talked about life, shared stories, and discovered an easy friendship.

Our Story
What started as a single cup of tea became treasured time. We met regularly, and through those simple conversations, we became the closest of friends. There was no agenda, no expectations—just two women sharing tea, laughter, challenges, dreams, and the everyday moments of life.
Sadly, my friend later passed away after a battle with cancer. Her friendship changed my life, and I know she would have loved the idea behind The Teacup Society.
I created The Teacup Society for women who may be experiencing aloneness, life transitions, or simply a desire for deeper connection. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, we offer something beautifully simple: a place to gather, sip tea, and build meaningful friendships.
There are no products to buy, no products to sell, no political discussions to navigate, and no pressure to be anything other than yourself.
Just tea.
Just conversation.
Just connection.
Whether you’re new to the area, looking to expand your circle of friends, or simply craving genuine conversation, you’ll always have a seat at our table.
At The Teacup Society, every friendship begins with a cup of tea.
